Question 1
A SIP Trunk is a logical connection between an IP PBX and a Service Provider’s application servers that allows voice over IP traffic to be exchanged between the two. When a call is placed from an internal phone to an external number, the PBX sends the necessary information to the SIP Trunk provider who establishes the call to the dialed number and acts as an intermediary for the call. All signaling and voice traffic between the PBX and the provider is exchanged using SIP and RTP protocol packets over the IP network. Which two statements about SIP trunk are true?
A. A SIP trunk configuration is mandatory for a UC500 device.
B. A SIP trunk is needed for internet access
C. A SIP trunk is needed only for voice if you are planning on using VoIP through a service provider.

B. When you connect a branch location using VoIP to the PSTN

I think that an ATA/186 works fine with SCCP protocol
Nope, voicetut is right:
Note: Fax pass-through for ATAs attached to Cisco CallManager Express (CME) is presently supported only with the H.323 protocol.

in Line with Question-4, I was thinking answer should be “SCCP”, after all its Skinny Client Protocol
, But realized it is proprietory for Cisco, and Fax is not a CISCO Product, Hence “H323″ seems to be logically correct.

let me know your thoughts… If it is too difficult to print these pages, then the CCNA Voice is gonna put you through the ringer. I dont have a duplexer, so I am not sure how this works on a duplexer. For me it is a manual print, flip, print.. use Card Stock for durability…
My wife did this for me testing so if you like please let me know.
Trick question because cisco analog ATA device is
not supporting H323 for many years now -
Only SIP or SCCP (or buy a linksys)
For instance those with vonage service at home
you are using analog ATA with voice and / or fax
line to phone or fax machine – it is SIP
Communication you have here – not h323

Here u see SIP support for fax via ATA
Now it makes it very confusing since both
H323 and SIP seem to be supported with ATA
and CME. I go with up to date cisco supported answer which is SIP
Answer : H323
