Does anyone know where one can find the new Trainsignal Cisco 640-461, videos?
If you want privacy from the internet cops, please email me at jason3354@hotmail.com
VOICETUT can you verify question 2.
The correct answer to que 2 is B
In reference to Q2, like a lot of you, I have another test prep app that list Q2 as B incorrectly. The correct answer is indeed A as listed here. From the Cisco web site: “When the router or gateway searches for an outbound dial peer, the device uses the entire incoming dial string. This matching is variable-length by default. This match is not done digit-by-digit…” Anyone heard of Google? Try it, and quit asking for freebies, you’re killing capitalism.
Q2, the answer is B, outbound dial-peer matching is completed on a digit-by-digit basis and inbound dial-peer matching is completed on a full digit string basis. Mac get your facts straight

this site http://www.ciscoarticles.com/Voice-Over-IP/668.html confirms digit by digit. however this site http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk90/technologies_tech_note09186a008010fed1.shtml#topic7 ( A cisco one ) states that this can depend on config. Personally I would go for B as people have cited other sources for this and we have no further info on the config of the router.
Outbound dial-peers always match digit-by-digit, EXCEPT when they’re configured as ‘DID’ dial-peers (Direct Inward Dial).
On DID calls, also referred to as one-stage dialing, the setup message contains all the digits necessary to route the call, and the router or gateway should not do subsequent digit collection. When the router or gateway searches for an outbound dial peer, the device uses the entire incoming dial string. This matching is variable-length by default. This match is not done digit-by-digit because by DID definition, all digits have been received. This example helps clarify this concept:
Assume the DID dial-string is “81690″. In this case, the router matches dial peer 4 and forwards the complete dial-string “81690″.

hello pedro i also have the same idea. for 2nd Q and is B. i think so please commet.. thnx
Question 2
How does the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express match an outbound VoIP dial peer?
Another tricky question due to the wording of the answers;
A. Outbound dial-peer matching uses the entire string of digits en bloc to match the dial peer with the longest match.
or
B. Outbound dial-peer matching is completed on a digit-by-digit basis.
Ref : ICOMM_VOL_1 v8.0 3-28
“Outbound Dial Peers are selected by the longest destination pattern match”…
REF : ICOMM_VOL_1 v8.0 3-29
goes on to say “Outbound Dial-peer matching is completed on a digit by digit basis.”
Based on the above and the information (below) my answer:
B
Please discuss and if voicetut / 9tut could contribute it would be greatly appreciated

“Matching Outbound Dial Peers
The method a router uses to select an outbound dial peer depends on whether ISDN DID is configured in the inbound POTS dial peer. If DID is not configured in the inbound POTS dial peer, the router collects the incoming dialed string digit by digit…
…If DID is configured in the inbound POTS dial peer, the router uses the full incoming dial string to match the destination pattern in the outbound dial peer. “

A. Directory

D. List
How’s the result of those who took the exam? Did you answer A or B for question 2?
The correct answer is A because of the way that call legs work. Remember that a call process uses an Inbound Call Leg that matches an Inbound Dial Plan, then the call is sent out en bloc where it matches the outbound dial plan. The wording is what gets people, the answer is A. The inbound and outbound dial peer could be the same depending on the configurations, as it is most of the time, but for it to match the criteria of an outbound dial peer it is matched en bloc.
Concerning Question 2, CiscoCrazy I respectfully disagree with you. Would you please consider responding to the information I gained from the practice test that comes with the Official Cert Guide for CCNA VOICE 640-461.
Here is the verbiage from the practice test that is on the CD:
“When an SSCP IP Phone registered to a Cisco Unified Communication Manager Express router dials a number, how are the digist matched to the outboudn dial-peer?
A. All digits are collected by the CME, and the digits are matched as a block to the closest destination-pattern.
B. CME looks at each digit as it is dialed and attempts to match a dial-peer. The matdching continues untl a destination-pattern is matched or all matches are eliminated.
C. All digits are collecte by the CME, and the digits are matched as a block to the closest answer-address.
D. CME looks at each digit as it is dialed an attempts to match a dial-peer. The matching continues unil and answer-address is matched or all matches are eliminated.
The CD states that correct answer is B “each digit”
Explanation:CME collects digits differently depending on the source of the digits. If the call is coming from an IP phone, the digits are generated one at a time and are matched to destination-patterns as they are dialed. The router either finds a match or return reorder tone.
If the calls comes in on a digital PSTN circuit such as a PRI, the digits are received as a blcok (en bloc) and only one matching attempt is made.
Digits from an IP phone are processed one digit as at time.”

Question 2
How does the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express match an outbound VoIP dial peer?
CORRECT ANSWER =====================================
B. Outbound dial-peer matching is completed on a digit-by-digit basis.

can anyone please share the link to the cbtnuggets for ccna voice 640-461
Hi thinks Answer 2 should be D, because
D. Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express creates a hunt group that contains all the configured dial peers and then applies the dial digits in a digit-by-digit manner to match a dial peer.
