I think that the correct answer to question 4 is “The device name has no naming convention”
Please provide me rough cuts on my email: santoshagrawal.san@gmail.com
As I understand name schema UPC+USERID is for ‘Cisco Unified Personal Communicator’
Pedro, but Q4 don’t have that choise. But i don’t know if one of the answers is correct.
I hope – I’ll not have this question on egzam…
today I passed egzam and there was this question, but like Pedro say, there was choise: “The device name has no naming convention”
@brog thn which option is rite????
For question 4 according to http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuciwebex/7x/english/administration/guide_new/CUCIWebEx_ConfigGuide.html
Table 1
correct answer should be there is no naming convention
Q#4 are you sure for this as there is another Q# screen shot for a Cisco Unified Personal
Communicator device. If the username that is associated with this device is jdoe, what should the
device name be?
this got the options
A. The device name should be JDOEUPC.
B. The device name should be UPCJDOE.
C. The device name should be JDOE.
D. The device name should be UPCCUPC.
E. The device name should be UPCCSF.
F. The device name has no naming convention.
here B is the chosen one
@PG and predro input required …
Regarding Q4, the Device Name does not need to relate to the user ID:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucimoc/7_1/english/integrat/guide/config_servers.html#wp1054294
Enter a name to identify the Cisco Unified Client Services Framework device. The name can contain 1 to 15 characters, including alphanumeric characters, periods, hyphens, and underscores. The device name does not need to relate to the user ID of the user.
Here is additional information taken from the “ICOMM Student Guide”. Be carefull whether the question is in reference to CU Client Services Framework or CU Personal Communicator.
When creating a Cisco Unified CSF device, the device name has no naming convention. Ensure that the “Allow Control of Device from CTI” check box is checked. Then define the device securitv profile and SIP profile.
When using Cisco Unified Personal Communicator version 7 follow the naming convention
for the device name:
- Derives from the usemame
- String starts with UPC
- Contains onlv uppercase letters or numerals
- Contains no more than 12 additional characters afler UPC
For example, a user with the user ID jjackson will use UPCJJACKSON as the device name.
The user IDJohnnie jackson will use UPCJOIINNHJACKS as Ihe device name.
*Correction* the user ID Johnnie jackson will use UPCJOHNNIEJACKS it was a typo on my part.
@ Mojo : If in the question its mentioned ” cisco personal communicator ” then we have to go for ” UPC ”
and if its mentioned for ” Cisco Unified Client Services Framework ” then we should go for ” no naming convention ”
Pls lemme know .. Thanks
think Aditya got the point, right?

Does anyone know where one can find the new Trainsignal Cisco 640-461, videos?

VOICETUT can you verify question 1.
Need Train Signal 640-461 Videos. Please share.
kripa.jyoti@gmail.com
Q1 has to be D. I have two references
1) ICOMM v8.0 student guide p. 6-108
2) CCNA Voice 640-461 Cert Guide p. 381
which loosely states when creating a CUPC device for 8.0 in soft-phone mode use CSF as the device type. With CUPC 7.0 the device type is CUPC.

Dear Admin
the answer for the below quesitons seems to be wroing
the correct answer shoud be
Q1 : Ans is D not A
Q2 : Ans is B and from the question it is not saying choose two options
There are some more questions which u have put wrong answer according
to the dump hvaing 175q; and sections A,B,C,D
all your question are taken from the section A; please check your quesitons
because most of the people has already passed exam from that dump. now it is
confused who is the correct.
Sorry it is Q1 and Q4 not Q2
question 4 above the answer should be B, and not C & D, right?
Regarding Q4, the Device Name does not need to relate to the user ID:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucimoc/7_1/english/integrat/guide/config_servers.html#wp1054294
http://20best.blogspot.com
Enter a name to identify the Cisco Unified Client Services Framework device. The name can contain 1 to 15 characters, including alphanumeric characters, periods, hyphens, and underscores. The device name does not need to relate to the user ID of the user.
Question 4 answer should just be ‘B’ surely. Version 8 does not care about the username matching the device name or prefixed with UPC but version 7 does (Im assuming the exam is referencing version 7). Also, the question is looking for only one answer and they have given two. It also matches with another similar question I have seen elsewhere. Either that or we are missing some information to be able to answer correctly. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cups/8_0/english/install_upgrade/deployment/guide/dgclient.html
Is this correct for voice and data?
Voice
Drop Sensitive
Delay Sensitive
UDP Priority
Smooth
Benign
Data
Drop Insensitive
Delay Insensitive
TCP Retransmit
Bursty
Benign/Greedy
This info came from VCE but another test prep Bursty belongs to Voice. Kindly help me to clear this. thanks
@Bruce
Bursty happens with data on cisco networks
There are Burst rates in cisco voip, not “Bursty” per say.
Tricky I know.

Hi, Why the answer aren’t C or D? The meaning of CSF is to be use for the personal communicator like a softphone, right?
Thanks in advance
