Can anyone tell me if it is possible to prepare to 640-461 by self-study using GNS3 or must invest some budget to buy expensive hardware for this purpose?

I want to give ccna voice exam 640-461 pls help me beco’z i don’t know about dumps

One of the books I am using is CCNA Voice 640-461 Official Cert Guide, Second Edition.
This is the ROUGH CUTS edition, not all chapters are completed.
Get a free trial edition at safaribooks and check it out first.
I also use the ROUGH CUTS

My test date is 5/2/2011.
If you are thinking of preparing for this test, You need to configure all concepts in CCM, CUC and CUP servers and some IP phones.

If you do it, You are also preparing for the CIPT1 at the same time.

Some questions are not correct like #45 the only name you can’t use IS UPCJDOE all other are valid names, I test them in the CCM.

#19 can be A or/and D.

Let us know how your exams went guys, and if the 60qts dumps are valid.

How about #54 I think is A since jitter and dejitter is the main result for having variable delay. propagation delay is fixed like serialization.

@CiscoKid, im have my exam also this friday. Are you going through the 60qt dumps? I think like 6 of them are wrong..

Took the exam today. Very, very easy. Got a 906, missed a few simple ones I think. I would suggest CBT Nuggets, try a few labs, and the questions and you’ll be fine. Got all 60 of the questions listed here, plus 10 new. The new ones are easy if you know the material. Good luck all!

@CQ, I have not gone through the 60 questions yet, just been reading the Rough Cuts. If anyone finds wrong answers to any of the questions please share.

which CBTNuggets videos do you recommend? Because those of CCNA VOice are mostly about CME and not CUCM…
Did you get nay labs? or do you remember any new questions?
BTW, have you given the same answers of the dumps, beacuse i think some are wrong.

Unfortunately the Rough Cuts in Safari books is water mark with account names and IP address in all the pages.

You can get a free trial account.

These questions should be one of your many avenues to study / practice, but I wonder why others that have taken the test have not commented on the incorrect questions.

The rough cuts does have many review questions and very few are similar to the dump.

On the website, the roughcuts is missing a few chapters. Do you get all versions of the rough cuts or you are stuck with what you get when you buy it. I have finished CBT Nuggets. Just want to read the book and then sit for the exam.

If you buy the book at safaribooks or ciscopress you will get the rough cuts with the missing chapters, but you download the complete version when it comes out(July 2011) and get a hard copy.

If you plan to stick with Safaribooks after the trial, then you need a monthly membership.

I checked out CBT Nuggets and they only have 640-460. I did go over some material for the 640-460, but only regarding CCME/QoS but 640-460 is very different since there is NO CCM, CUC, CUP and 640-461 does.
Did you get CBT Nuggets for 640-461?

I am looking at just getting the Rough Cuts and passing the exam before July 29. So hopefully $40 will be enough, rather than $80 that they are charging.

At the moment, there are no CBT Nuggets for 640-461. I think it will take a few months before Jeremy Cioara gets the time, plus i think he is still busy with the CBT Nuggets for TSHOOT.

Some lab at home and plus work stuff, should help.

There were no labs, and only one D&D, that one from the dumps, which is wrong there btw. The 60 qts were there +10 new, but also easy ones so dont worry.
I didn’t read any book, my study was with job-experience.

I’ve looked at those as well and compared them. Both GQ and Teleportnet did their homework and indeed correct the wrong answers that you have. However #19 is the only one I have issues with as I dont agree with the answer of D but A which the dump has, I could be wrong though.

On Safari, you can’t read all pages with member ship. You can view partical only.
Batter buy it. Otherwise they will collect 20$ for one month fee and 40 + for download with water mark. But still several chapter was in development. Be careful.

Make sure you know description of SIP, SCCP, H.323, MGCP. I got that on my paper.
You can study from old 640-460 exam guide. 70% still good, from part V you can get dial plan, SIP trunk and so on. Dump are still good.
I’m done with 640-461, off to CCNP voice.

The dumps reports C and D, but I think that is a one answer question and that the correct answer is B

Passed Today With 906/1000 Some New Ques.But 60 questions from dumps.

Not that one. That is from 640-460, old exam.
one siade was h323, sip, sccp,mgcp and other side was defination of those.
related to Voice and Video questions, avaliable choices are almost the same on both.
But question was one for voice and one for video.
Sorry, I don’t recall exectly. But it is for voice quality and video quality. Like packets drop in voice and blur in video.
Look in QoS.

Took the test yesterday and passed with a 941!!!! the test dump is very valid, all 60 were there plus the 10 new ones which are what Nagamin said.

The video and voice questions were the features of, i.e. Drop insensitive, Delay sensitive, UDP

Only had the one D&D which was the one from the dump.

Make sure you watch some nugget videos from the old voice exam as they will still help, don’t just test dump, know the information and you will be fine.

#54 should probably be B) DSP delay
DSP delay varies based on the load and codec
It cannot be A) dejitter buffer. The dejitter buffer is used to fixe variable delay issues
it cannot be D and E as they are fixed delays. C states processing but DSP is more specific

Hi Pedro. The reason I don’t think it’s propagation delay is because on cisco’s website it states: In general, the fixed components are from propagation delays on the trunks within the network, and variable delays are from queuing delays clocking frames into and out of intermediate switches.

Hi Pedro… Just wanted to let you know that the p4s does not give you all choices. It only has 4 lists 4 choices: A, B, C, D. While the actual exam lists 5 choices A to F. F seems like the right answer and it states that there is no naming convention and it can be set to anything.

@Pedro…..Number 17 is correct. The client there is the Unified Personal Communicator and it requires the name to begin wtih UPC

The exam is super easy and most of it is form p4s. Don’t wait till next thursday. Do it this thursday. Personally I feel that this exam is useless and is just a money grab by cisco as most of the real stuff that will benefit you will be covered in ccnp voice. As much as I like jeremy and his excellent cbt-nugget on 640-460 it is totally useless for this test. Don’t waste your time and just memorize the p4s. Then do some real studying for ccnp voice.

If your goal is to pass this test then the current material out there is not going to help. This also includes the rough cuts version available online. The learning material, although very informative does not help you pass the test. To verify my answers from the p4s I had to either look at cisco’s documents or check cucm the books were useless for a lot of the questions. If it was not for the p4s out there the majority of new people would have failed this test. Use the p4s as your study guide. Understand the questions.

I took the 640-461 on Wednesday and passed with a 906. There were 70 Qs, 3 of which were a drag-and-drop. There were a few hairy questions, of which I hadn’t see anywhere published yet. I was a bit worried in advance because of all the debate about the validity of the dumps. I have been circumspect about what is really right and what Cisco interprets to be right and in the end I stuck with the dump (as far is went). A word of advice – make sure that you know QoS. As was already mentioned here, if you know your stuff then you should fly through. My prep could have been better but what can you expect from 4 weeks’ worth of learning?
