I cleared CCNA voice today, 965/1000. totally 70 questions in 90min.I got 2 new questions,
1. A administrator adds a phone to the CM, the phone is in process of registering, but getting the IP address in wrong network. I selected the answer as the switch port is in wrong voice VLAN. 2. Does a Phone which is not registered in CM allows call forwarding to be enabled, I selected yes..I believe I have answered both correctly, I lost mark in a drag & drop question..u need to match the H.323, SCCP, SIP, MGCP. Please note that this drag & drop is not same as in Virtual cert exam…
Also want to let u all know that, I got that question, network delay component, I selected Propagation delay which is correct as the question is component, in otherwise it is processing delay. And for questoin outbound dial peer, I selected the option A and not digit by digit, it’s a tricky question, so do not apply general things on this question. And for Personal communicator to retrieve VM, I have selected Miscrosoft exchange and not IMAP, it’s all tricky question. Am sure I lost mark in only drag and drag..hence this 3 controversial questions are rite

The answer is Cisco Unified Border Element. Even thought CUBE isnt talked about in the cerification guide for CCNA voice, CUBE is talked about in the ICOMM Vol1 learning material.

Look on page 1-42 and 1-43…………….

One other thing to mention, the cerification book is only like 453 pages. The ICOMM Vol 1 & 2 training material is over 900 pages. There is a ton of information missing in the certifcation guide.

Got it as well! All I can share is to read, understand and importantly memorize all the questions in VCE dumps, Voicetut and Pass4sure. Surely you will pass. I just have a good comment with what Hywel ask about a few questions above and I will rewrite it one more time. Probably because of the conflict of Voicetut, VCE dump and Pass4sure still impossible to perfect the exam. Guys for the questions below, try to check carefully and get some advice. I almost perfect the exam and I presume that my mistakes came from the following questions below:

Lesson to learn

My senior revealed to me, after I inform him that I finish and pass CCNA Voice exam certification, that he failed the exam last September. Sorry for him that he do not know about voicetut and dumps. He was informed incorrectly and used the test exam for 641-460 for the 640-461 and study books by his own. He is now gaining solid experience in voice over IP and Cisco Communication Manager implementation compare to me who is about to start. Now, I enlightened him and share this site as well as the dumps for him to confidently retake the exam in few days time.

Well Taking the CCNA Voice exam tomorrow. Will let everybody know if any questions have changed.

Hoping to not get the question rergarding “sh isdn status” and “sh isdn q931”. According to the dumps, “sh isnd q931” is the correct answer but that cannot be true. “Show ISDN Q931” isnt a valid command on cisco routers as far as I know. Now it is a valid command on Juniper routers. “Debug ISDN Q931” is a valid comman on Cisco routers, so with my findings, I will be choosing “sh isdn status”.

Ans: CTI
2. It was for CSF.
Options were UPCJDOE and others same as CUPC. I chose no convention.
don remember the third one, but it was easy.

I passed. The dumps are still good and like brianiac, I had the same questions and after reviewing the question concerning “in which modes is CTI used with CUPC?”, the answer is desktop mode. I got the question wrong.

I would like to share one other thing. For everbody that keeps asking if reviewing this website and the dumps is enough to pass the exam, they are, however passing the exam doesnt mean you know how to do the work. You need to understand the concepts behind the questions if you want to get a job as a voice engineer.

Chad is right, question was in which mode CTI is used, and dumps by Gosh are valid.
In support of Chad, along with dumps I crammed up (:D) CCNA Voice book and practised all cisco questions, because knowledge is what for what we are studying for and dumps is just to clear the exam.
@Voice guy: No labs. Just DnD, and questions.
I reffered cisco book and CBT nuggets.

Brainiac / Chad – I don’t think I saw the question “in which mode CTI is used” in the dumps. What section is it in? Also, can you please advise if there were any questions from section B on the exam?

As I said it was not in dumps.

Ans: For communication between CUPC and deskphone.

I passed, if you’re one of those “study the practice tests but never learn the material” types you have nothing to worry about, there aren’t any questions on there that I hadn’t already seen. I took a boot camp and studied out of books, built a lab and truly understood the material.. but after I saw the test I don’t even respect my own certification, they should probably expand the pool of questions a little bit…and put some lab-sim and simlet type questions on there, thats just my take though.. they should make this test the same as the CCENT.

Anyone know, if the test 640-461 contains labs. Or only theory?

passed, did the Gosh vce and watched the cbt videos, i noticed a load of new questions (approx 10+), majority of the of the Q’s were from the TestKings section of the gosh.vce. also a new D&D. Looked like i had the same question more than once though, several times i had to re-check the Q & A as i was sure i had already answered it before… maybe a new way of testing lol

I passed today with a 965. About 67 out of 70 came from “Cisco.TestKing.640-461.v2012-01-29.by.gosh.186q” Sections A, C, D. So it’s still valid no worries.

The new drag and drop is not like the one on the dump: H.323, SIP, SCCP, MGCP
The examples they give you to drag and drop to each of these is tricky. For instance; what uses SMTP, what uses FXS port to configure, what …endpoint…, what standard for voice, video, etc.

The question about DIFSERV and INTSERV answers are quite vague.
“DIFSERV, near perfect QOS.” “INTSERV, reservations, nodes are pre-set/reserved”
note:
DiffServ is a model for providing QoS in the Internet by differentiating the traffic whereas IntServ is a model for providing QoS in networks by building a virtual circuit in the Internet using the bandwidth reservation technique. DiffServ does not require the nodes in the network to remember any state information about the flow as oppose to IntServ, which remembers state information in the routers. Furthermore, reserving paths and remembering state information in a busy network such as the Internet would be a tedious task. Therefore, implementing IntServ would be practically difficult in the Internet. Because of that, IntServ would be suitable for smaller private networks whereas DiffServ is much suitable for the Internet.

New option in the “What are the valid Cisco Unity Transfer Rules that you can enable?”
Standard, Closed and Alternate. They add an additional Non-Standard. I knew it wasn’t Holiday but had to think for a second to realize the Nonstandard is also wrong.

That’s all I can remember now, but overall this exam was the easiest of the Voice exams I’ve had so far (CVOICE). I’ve been CCNA for years, but I had to go back and take this new CCNA Voice because they made it a prerequisite. *sighs* Now I got 4 more to go. CIPT1 is next.

hey guys, today i passed the exam with 953 🙂 … The dumps gosh 186q is still valid!!
keep focused in data and voice characteritics…memorize the D&D from the exam D about that topic.

Another new q was: a IP phone has problem to register and stay in registering cicle. The admin noticed that the ip add is wrong. The two closer options 4 me were:

The DHCP give bad IP address to the phone
The phone is connected to a wrong Vlan port on the switch.

I aswered the 2nd one but i dont know if it’s right.

@and1lan.. not sure if you had the chance to see if one of the answer was that the phone was not able to find its gateway also, cause if it can’t find the Call Processing device, like CME, it will go to the back up registering device and so on until it goes to all the processing device it has, trying to register. If it goes through all the possible registering devices and does not have any success, it will reboot itself and start the process all over again.

I think that the closest one should be the second, cause if it is in the wrong vlan, it will not go to the correct DHCP server to get an ip address and the option 150 will point somewhere else, not letting the phone to register against the right CME/CUCM.

Feedback will be more than welcome as I am also preparing for the exam.

Data : Smooth or bursty, Benign or greedy, Drop-insensitive, delay-insensitive, TCP retransmits
Video : Bursty, greedy, drop & delay sensitive, UDP priority

The Lead2pass CCNA 640-461 v12.37 92Q dump appears to have a number of errors. Cisco.TestKing.640-461.v2012-01-29.by.gosh.186q is still the way to go

hey kenny, thanks for your comments, i think the key in the q is that “The admin noticed that the IP address is wrong in the IP phone”, that’s why i think those two choices are the closest. I don’t remember the others options, but believeme they were extremely crazy jejeje!! cause that i decided to choose the 2nd mentioned. Good luck man

Passed today with 976/1000. I completed in 4 weeks.

I used the following resources:

Cisco Press textbook
CBT Nuggets
GNS3 with actual IOS for CME (not really necessary tbh)
UC Apps (CUPS, CUCM and CUC)
Cisco.TestKing.640-461.v2012-01-29.by.gosh.186q

4 – 6 new questions:

1. Same question as Kenny above (relating to incorrect IP address above)
I believe the answer is that is that the incorrect IP range is applied on DHCP server, not the incorrect VLAN. This is up for debate though 😉

2. D&D H323, SIP, SCCP and MGCP – we have to match working method.
I definitely got this wrong, was very detailed and I have not covered this in my revision. Sorry, no more info on this :/ You would need knowledge of MGCP and H.323 protocols to answer this correctly.

3 (and 4). The Voice vs Data questions have changed. They are no longer D&D’s, but now ask you to choose 3 check boxes from a list. I had 2 separate questions for Voice and Data. The same terminology was used (TCP vs UDP; Greedy, Bursty etc; Drop Sensitive vs Insensitive)

5. Another question that related to voice vs data. I can’t remember the exact question, but it was very easy if you understand the differences between Voice (and Video) and Data.

Notes:

The CUPC client question for v8.0 (CSF) has been updated. It now has an additional option to select “no convention is applied” (or something to that effect). This is the correct answer for v8.0. I had both questions (v7.0 and v8.0) in the exam 😀

@jonathan-For the question on DHCP server and VLAN,i agree that the answer should be the incorrect IP range on DHCP server.It makes more sense to me.
